They've finally released the special edition DVD of Lady on the Tramp here, so I picked it up first chance I got. Man, it's been a long time since I've seen that movie, and one of the first things I noticed was how familiar Lady's voice is. Not familiar in the sense that it was Lady, but in the sense that I've heard it somewhere else.
Sure enough, a quick check on imdb yielding the fangirl revelation that Lady was voiced by Barbara Luddy, who also voiced Kanga in the original Winnie the Pooh movies, the Mother Rabbit and Church Mouse of Robin Hood and (my personal favourite) Merriweather of Sleeping Beauty. So I spent the next 70-ish minutes of Lady and the Tramp giggling at the bizarre duality of prim Lady and snarky Merriweather being voiced by the very same person.
( Then, while watching the making stuff, I had another revelation. )
