  1. Working on My Little Pony website has been interesting, but because I am at heart an academic who loves rambling at length, I keep having to pull myself away from arguing the anthropological consequences of a family of Little Ponies who live together but are apparently all female. I always thought Wind Whistler was male, which was why (s)he was always with North Star. Don't get me started on those "occasionally-visiting" Big Brother Ponies, either.

  2. I made a Return to Oz icon! Snaggable, as are all the previous icons I've made.
Yes, I've jumped on the white-border-round-animation bandwagon. *is a sheep*

  3. My current favourite song: Deborah Gibson & Jordan Knight - Say Goodbye. The lyrics are like that of a typical lovelorn ballad, but their vocals harmonise beautifully and I just love the fact that unlike other duets where the pair usually sing the full chorus in unison, Deborah and Jordan layer their vocals together like a puzzle and only sing one line together in unison.

  4. re: The uproar over TLMIII
To quote the catchline of another famous advert: When the buying stops, the killing can, too.

Thank you, and good night.

It figures. My mum goes and buys a laptop after I've sent my computer off (containing all my bits and bobs). I still don't have access to most of my stuff, but at least I have Paintshop again to amuse myself. And amuse myself, I certainly do. Hee!

A few more icons behind this cut. )

In this, my last month in London, I shall spend my time doing Londonesque things. This would include watching musicals, inasmuch as my allowance will allow. Last week, ferexample, I watched Mary Poppins. Err, twice.

The main reason is because Gavin Lee (Bert) rocks my socks, but the other strong factor for my lovin' is because they were brave enough to throw the clear Disney sensibilities of the movie out the window. Anyone who's expecting a carbon copy of the movie is going to be severely disappointed. The stage show contains sharp British morals and there's a reason it's not recommended for kids below 7. Honestly, anyone who complains that their version of the Practically Perfect Nanny is heartless (what?!) ought to read the books.

Also...? Mary/Bert OTP theirloveissochimchimcheree.

PS. For your enjoyment, I present Brimstone and Treacle part 2, one of the new songs introduced into the show (and one of my favs). Context: Mary Poppins the Practically Perfect Nanny versus Ms Andrew the Omg So Scary Nanny.

This morning I spent some time fiddling around with screencaps for my site, and I ended up making this:

[info]mermaidbia should appreciate this, at least. :)

Alrighty then. Back to real life, in which I act as a tourist guide for my good friend who's here visiting merry 'ol England. Much fun is being had, but my feet hurt. A lot. Arrr.

From the Incredibles commentary by Brad Bird (director) and John Walker (producer):

Brad: So now we're back to our mundane reality here and E is tolerating watching one of her superheroes crying and just suffering through it.
John: And I love her little incinerating garbage can.
Brad: Yeah, along with the fact that she has toilet paper. Y'know I wanted her to have toilet paper because she's someone who would--
Brad & John: Not have Kleenex. *laugh*
John: There's no crying in E's place.
Brad: *switches to Edna voice* No crying at E's place!

That's actually kinda related to my current dilemma about whether I should buy those My Little Pony DVDs or not. Over at amazon.com, the Complete Season 1 Boxed Set of My Little Ponies: The Series is out, but it's Region 1. Oh, I can watch Region 1 fine, but I can't screencap them. I'd prefer to be able to screencap them, so I can get working on that Guide To The My Little Ponies that I've been wanting to do. *ponderponder*
